Job Description

Masonry / Concrete Superintendent Washington D.C/Metro Area A well-established commercial contractor is seeking an experienced Masonry / Concrete Superintendent to join its team in the Washington, DC Metro area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on field leader with experience working for a masonry contractor, concrete contractor, or self-perform construction division. The role is suited to someone who understands how to run crews, manage production, coordinate manpower, materials and equipment, and deliver high-quality masonry and concrete work safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have 10–20 years of field experience and a proven track record overseeing masonry and/or concrete scopes on commercial construction projects. Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for masonry and concrete work.
  • Supervise self-perform crews, foremen, laborers, and subcontracted scopes where required.
  • Plan manpower, materials, equipment, sequencing, and daily production.
  • Coordinate layout, embeds, formwork, reinforcing, pours, masonry installation, scaffolding, and related field activities.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project schedules.
  • Monitor progress and ensure production targets, safety standards, and quality expectations are met.
  • Work closely with project managers, general contractors, owners, inspectors, suppliers, and field teams.
  • Identify and resolve field issues related to schedule, manpower, materials, coordination, and constructability.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with project documents, safety requirements, and company standards.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external project stakeholders. Requirements
  • 10–20 years of construction experience, with a strong focus on masonry, concrete, or self-perform field operations.
  • Experience working for a masonry contractor, concrete contractor, or self-perform construction division is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage field crews and drive production.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial masonry and/or concrete construction methods.
  • Ability to plan daily work, manage manpower, coordinate materials, and maintain schedule.
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality control, sequencing, and site logistics.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Local experience in the DC / Northern Virginia / Maryland market is a plus.
  • OSHA certification preferred. Compensation & Benefits

Pay

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
