Form Setter/Finisher Helper

Position Overview Reliable, safety-conscious entry-level Form Setter/Finisher Helper needed for heavy civil concrete crews on municipal projects across Maryland, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Delaware. Assist form setters, finishers, and Foreman with material handling, form work support, placement, and finishing of sidewalks, curb & gutter, barrier walls, retaining walls, parapets, and related structures. Ideal entry point to learn the trade; Flagger certification preferred. Key Responsibilities

• •Stage materials, forms, tools, and curing products at the work area; keep site organized and free of hazards.
• •Assist with form setting, alignment, bracing, and stripping under direction of Form Setter/Finisher or Foreman.
• •Support concrete placement: chute/hopper guidance, vibrating, screeding, and initial float work as directed.
• •Hand tools, joint materials, curing compound, and finish tools to the finishers.
• •Help protect fresh concrete (edges, weather protection, curing) and assist with joint cutting/installation.
• •Learn basic grade stakes, slope, form alignment, and finish quality standards under guidance.
• •Support cleanup, form cleaning, and demobilization after pours.
• •Follow all company safety protocols, PPE rules, and site-specific requirements; stop-work authority for hazards.
• •Flag and direct traffic when assigned (Flagger certification preferred). Required Qualifications
• •Willingness to learn form setting and concrete finishing trade; prior construction labor or flagging experience preferred but not required.
• •Physical ability to lift/carry 50–75+ lbs repeatedly, bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods outdoors.
• •Reliable transportation to regional job sites (MD / DC / NOVA / DE); valid driver’s license preferred.
• •Ability to follow instructions; good communication and teamwork.
• •Commitment to safety; complete OSHA 10 and company training. Flagger certification preferred.
• •Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. Physical / Working Conditions Full-time field position. Outdoor work year-round in all weather, active construction sites, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Travel between MD/DMV/DE sites. Overtime and early starts common on municipal pour schedules.
