Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to support concrete placement and finishing on assigned construction projects. You will work with the concrete crew to achieve the specified elevations, slopes, surface finishes, and overall quality. This hands-on role requires practical finishing experience, attention to timing and changing site conditions, and a consistent commitment to safe work.
Responsibilities
- •Review work instructions, drawings, and finish requirements with the supervisor.
- •Assist with layout, form preparation, and pre-placement checks as assigned.
- •Place, spread, strike off, and level concrete using appropriate tools and methods.
- •Float, edge, and trowel concrete to the specified finish.
- •Produce broom or other specified textures where required.
- •Operate power finishing equipment only when trained and authorized.
- •Check elevations, drainage slopes, edges, and surface condition throughout the work.
- •Coordinate finishing activities with the placement crew and supervisor.
- •Recognize changes in concrete setting behavior and communicate concerns promptly.
- •Install or assist with joints and curing measures according to project instructions.
- •Protect completed surfaces from damage and premature traffic.
- •Inspect finished work and report defects or areas requiring correction.
- •Clean and maintain tools and assigned equipment.
- •Follow procedures for wet-concrete exposure, silica dust, equipment operation, and other jobsite hazards.
- •Support related concrete tasks within your training and assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- •Previous professional experience in concrete placement and finishing.
- •Ability to use hand-finishing tools and relevant equipment safely.
- •Understanding of finishing sequence, timing, curing, and surface requirements.
- •Ability to read basic construction drawings and follow grade or layout instructions.
- •Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- •Ability to work effectively with a crew and communicate changing conditions.
- •Reliable attendance and ability to reach assigned project sites.
- •Ability to perform essential duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation; specific physical requirements will be confirmed.
Pay
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
