Job Description
Position Summary A well-established manufacturer of concrete pavers and segmental retaining wall (SRW) products is seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee quality systems across its New Jersey production facilities. This role owns quality standards, testing protocols, and compliance across multiple plants, with direct responsibility for dry-cast paver and wall unit production. The ideal candidate has hands-on quality control experience in a dry-cast concrete products environment and is comfortable working across sites to standardize procedures and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- •Oversee quality control functions across all New Jersey manufacturing plants, standardizing procedures and testing protocols site to site
- •Manage day-to-day QC operations for dry-cast paver and segmental retaining wall (SRW) production lines
- •Ensure product compliance with applicable ASTM standards (including C936 for concrete paving units and C1372 for SRW units) and relevant state specifications
- •Monitor and test raw materials — aggregates, cement, admixtures, and pigments — for consistency and compliance
- •Conduct dimensional, absorption, freeze-thaw, and compressive strength testing; maintain testing documentation and certifications
- •Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- •Supervise, train, and develop QC technicians at each facility
- •Partner with production and batch plant teams on mix design adjustments and process improvements
- •Maintain quality records, inspection logs, and certification documentation for internal, customer, and regulatory requirements
- •Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and material waste across plants Requirements
- •Proven quality control experience in dry-cast concrete manufacturing — paver and wall (SRW) production experience is required
- •Prior experience managing quality across multiple manufacturing sites
- •Working knowledge of ASTM standards applicable to concrete masonry and hardscape products
- •Ability to travel regularly between New Jersey plant locations
- •Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience training and developing QC staff
- •Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on industry experience will be considered
