Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Bookkeeper role based in Westbury, NY. The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling bank and credit card statements. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable, inputting invoices, tracking payments, preparing monthly sales tax, assisting with weekly payroll and maintaining driver and truck files. The role also involves preparing basic financial reports, organizing supporting documentation, and maintaining accurate filing systems for audits and internal reviews. Qualifications
- •Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, including experience with general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, and basic financial reporting.
- •Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel for spreadsheets and data analysis.
- •Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills for managing records and documentation.
- •Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work independently in an on-site office environment.
- •Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting within construction or a related industry is preferred.
- •High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in accounting or finance is a plus.
- •Understanding of basic payroll processes and familiarity with standard accounting principles and practices.
