Job Description
Concrete Pump Operator (CDL A or B Required) Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping Austin , TX COMPENSATION - Starting at $24.00 per hour DOE Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping is hiring a Concrete Pump Operator for its Austin branch. This position drives a concrete pump truck to and from job sites, sets up and operates the pump, supports concrete placement, maintains assigned equipment, and represents the Company professionally with customers. Safety is paramount. This position requires flexibility for irregular hours, long shifts, overtime, travel, weekends, holidays, and last-minute schedule changes. Key Responsibilities
- •Drive the pump truck safely and lawfully.
- •Set up, operate, monitor, break down, and clean the concrete pump and delivery system.
- •Inspect job sites for power lines, ground conditions, clearance, traffic, people, structures, and other hazards.
- •Stop work when conditions are unsafe and immediately report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, or equipment damage.
- •Complete required pre-trip, post-trip, pump, and maintenance inspections.
- •Perform authorized light repairs and routine operator maintenance.
- •Recognize and report mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, hose, pipe, clamp, brake, tire, light, and fluid-leak concerns.
- •Keep the truck, hopper, boom, hoses, pipes, clamps, system, work area, and yard clean and orderly.
- •Complete accurate timecards, logs, permits, inspection and maintenance forms, expense reports, and receipts.
- •Communicate professionally with customers, ready-mix drivers, signal persons, dispatch, supervisors, and coworkers. Qualifications & Skills
- •Valid CDL Class A or B.
- •Valid DOT medical card and driving record acceptable under Company policy and applicable insurance requirements.
- •Concrete-pump operating experience or successful completion of the Company’s approved operator-training path.
- •Working knowledge of concrete-pump operation, basic mechanics, inspections, and minor troubleshooting.
- •Ability to read and understand equipment and safety materials.
- •Ability to communicate effectively, make safe decisions, and work responsibly with limited direct supervision. Physical Demands and Work Conditions
- •Lift up to 75 pounds overhead and push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- •Move and position 2-inch to 5-inch hoses, pipes, clamps, gaskets, reducers, outrigger pads, and related equipment.
- •Climb on and around the truck, walk on uneven terrain, and stand or sit for extended periods.
- •Work around wet concrete, traffic, moving equipment, overhead utilities, trenches, elevated pour locations, dust, mud, noise, and vibration.
- •Work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
- •Travel to local and out-of-town job sites. Schedule and Environment Work may include irregular schedules, long shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, last-minute changes, and local or out-of-town travel. Work is performed outdoors in construction and roadway environments that may include heat, cold, wind, precipitation, dust, mud, noise, vibration, traffic, wet concrete, trenches, utilities, and moving equipment.
