Concrete Laborer

Job Title: Concrete Laborer Job Description The Concrete Laborer plays a key role in precast concrete production by preparing formwork, placing reinforcement, assisting with concrete placement and finishing, and handling materials safely and efficiently in a controlled plant environment. This position supports consistent, high-quality panel output through careful adherence to drawings, build sheets, and safety standards. Responsibilities

• •Prepare and set up formwork by cleaning and oiling forms, placing blockouts and inserts, and installing hardware according to drawings and build sheets.
• •Cut, place, and tie rebar and mesh, ensuring proper positioning of lifting anchors and connection hardware to specified requirements.
• •Assist with concrete placement by working with batching interface, placing and vibrating concrete, and finishing surfaces using trowels, floats, and edgers while monitoring curing conditions.
• •Strip and de-mold concrete panels, perform basic patching and finishing, and prepare forms for the next pour to support continuous production.
• •Handle materials using overhead cranes and forklifts to move panels and supplies, staging them in the yard in alignment with quality control direction.
• •Maintain clean and safe work areas by performing regular housekeeping, supporting 5S practices, and participating in daily tool preventive maintenance and standard work activities.
• •Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, powered industrial truck (PIT) and crane/rigging protocols, silica exposure controls, and proper use of personal protective equipment in accordance with OSHA and industry best practices. Essential Skills
• •At least 6 months of experience in construction, concrete, fabrication, or manufacturing.
• •Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
• •Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• •Reliable transportation to and from the worksite. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
