Chief Estimator – Concrete Construction Premier Concrete Systems | Englewood Cliffs, NJ | Full-Time | On-Site About the Position Premier Concrete Systems is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead our estimating and bidding efforts for concrete construction projects throughout New Jersey and New York. We are specifically looking for a professional with extensive experience working directly for a concrete construction contractor or structural concrete subcontractor, with a proven ability to develop accurate, competitive estimates and help secure new projects. This is a senior-level position requiring strong technical estimating expertise, leadership, and an understanding of concrete construction operations. Key Responsibilities

• •Lead and manage the estimating process for concrete construction projects, from initial bid review through final proposal submission.
• •Prepare detailed estimates for structural cast-in-place concrete foundations, slabs, columns, walls, and superstructures.
• •Develop accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, formwork, reinforcing steel, and subcontracted scopes.
• •Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
• •Perform and oversee quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and bid leveling.
• •Evaluate project risks, construction methods, productivity assumptions, schedules, and site conditions.
• •Coordinate with project management and field operations to develop realistic and competitive proposals.
• •Manage multiple bids, establish estimating priorities, and meet submission deadlines.
• •Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, construction managers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• •Participate in bid reviews, negotiations, value engineering, and project handoffs.
• •Track historical costs, bid results, and market conditions to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
• •Help identify new bidding opportunities and support business development efforts. Required Qualifications
• •Extensive estimating experience directly with a concrete construction contractor or structural concrete subcontractor.
• •Proven experience preparing and managing competitive bids for cast-in-place concrete construction.
• •Strong knowledge of concrete foundations, structural slabs, columns, walls, superstructures, formwork, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement operations.
• •Demonstrated ability to independently price complete concrete scopes, including labor productivity, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• •Experience leading or overseeing the estimating process for multiple projects.
• •Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, project schedules, and subcontractor coordination.
• •Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• •Ability to work on-site in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Preferred Qualifications
• •Prior experience as a Chief Estimator, Director of Estimating, Senior Estimator, or Preconstruction Executive for a concrete contractor.
• •Established relationships with general contractors in the New York and New Jersey construction markets.
• •Experience managing an estimating team and mentoring junior estimators.
• •Background in project management, concrete field operations, or business development.
• •Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
