Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specs, and bid documents to quantify concrete scope
- Calculate material quantities, labor hours, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and cost estimates
- Track historical costs and maintain pricing databases
- Coordinate with field teams, suppliers, and project managers
- Analyze competitor pricing and market conditions
Typical Qualifications
- 3+ years of concrete estimating or field experience
- Proficiency with estimating software (Planswift, Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar)
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods and materials
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Excellent math and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred
Salary Range
$60,000 – $100,000+ with senior estimators and chief estimators earning $100,000–$140,000 at larger contractors.
